So I am reapplying this year and I have an email from Interfolio saying my account will expire but if I renew it, I will have access to my transcripts and LoR from my pre-prof. committee. Is this a good idea? As in I just pay the fee and don't need to bug my advisor about, well, anything? interfolio takes care of it all?

yup...if you already have their LORs from last year on interfolio, then you can access them again the next year if your account is still active. Interfolio will hold all of your LORs as long as you keep your account active.

It still might be a good idea to get atleast one new LOR to submit with your applications this year...but from my application experience this year after reapplying and not getting new ones, it wasnt necessarily essential.

By new do you mean an update of the Committee LoR? Because most Texas schools really only want that; I recall AMCAS wants it in addition to one or two other LoRs.

well I dont know about committee letter as I didnt have one. But, just in general its good to get atleast one up to date letter from someone to show you havent just been sitting on your butt the whole last year doing nothing.

Another question: for those applying to TCOM:
Do I need an LoR from a DO?

I am a first time applicant through TMDSAS----do I need my LORs ready by the October deadline? Or just if I get secondaries? Can I submit more than 2?

A friend told me to get one to TCOM by mid-June, so I'm getting a second opinion.

TCOM accepted me and I didn't have a letter from a DO, just 1 science, 1 psych, 1 philosophy, 1 hospice boss, and the committee letter.

In fact, the gentleman coordinating my application at TCOM (they make you sit down with an administrator to go through the app documents to make sure they got everything they need) told me they hadn't even received my letters from interfolio yet, but there I was on the interview day. I wouldn't worry about the DO letter if TCOM is the only DO school to which you're applying.

Funny thing on that is that I got an interview invite from El Paso a couple years ago and my Committee LoR hadn't even been sent off.

So, just so I'm clear on this: the committee letter is enough? No more needed for TCOM(I know it's sufficient for medical schools, just making sure)?

Another question:
Do I have LoR's sent to TCOM directly or to TMDSAS?

Send them to TMDSAS, and then TMDSAS will forward them to all of the schools to which you pay to apply, including TCOM.

Ok, thanks. I didn't know if TCOM was a special case though I know how med school prefer it.
Also, is there a dead line for when the LoR needs to be in? Is one from a D.O recommended?

Anyone know about the deadline? I already asked the school but they did not respond.
