What advice has your SMP faculty given you about your situation?
So my advisor said that I should be good to apply till August because she said although it is late in the cycle for most people, that I'm not "most people". I think she means since I'm a non-trad coming from a career change in public health who has more experience than most traditional students. My thing is I dont know how right she is. I know Texas is an odd duck and I really need to know if there is any real chance of an MD acceptance applying that late in the cycle. The only 2 MCAT dates I'm looking at atm are July 11th and Jul 24th. I'm planning on submitting primaries by the end of May to at least get verified. So by that point, when I get my MCAT score I will be complete for any schools that presend secondaries. What are your thoughts?

Hey there. Fellow Texas non-traditional student here.
I would say you are definitely set to apply this cycle. I'm also testing for the MCAT on July 11th (so scores on or around Aug 11th). It sounds like most schools continue interview invites at least until the end of the year. We should be ok.
Have you taken a practice FL MCAT yet?
I presume this will be your first (and hopefully only) MCAT attempt. Do whatever you should to for a strong MCAT result without burning out. A strong score is better than a bad early score. I don't think you will be in a bind with a July test date otherwise. (Confirm by checking with the admissions teams at the schools you want to attend.)
