Hello there,

I was wondering if someone who is applying to Texas Schools could tell me who did you ask for your LORs? So far I have a dentist and a professor but it asks for three. Should I get another dentist, professor, or someone different?

If you go to Tech use the health professions committee packet. Just get 3 or 4 letters together and they'll put it together for you. That way you don't have to worry about individual requirements like dentist and 2 science.

No they didn't finish mine until mid July because the advisor kept forgetting to hit submit on a letter. They work all summer so I'm sure you can go by the pre health office and ask.

At Tech you don't need a science letter as long as you use the health committee packet. If you don't use it then you do need 2 science and 1 dentist.

I had a dentist, oral surgeon, and non-science letter and used the committee packet. Still got accepted in-state

I'm sorry if this sounds dumb, but does that mean that i get 3 letters from different people, they put it into one packet? or do some professors get together and write a letter for you?

The committee is a panel of professors and pre-health advisors who evaluate your GPA, DAT, EC, etc and ask for you to submit 3-4 letters of rec from 3-4 different people (usually 1 dentist, 2 science professors, 1 liberal arts professor). The committee will then use those letters and will sometimes even conduct interviews of you to put into a packet to send off to TMDSAS or AADSAS.
