so i am trying to refine my essay to fit into TMDSAS's stupid personal statement form (80 characters/line, 62 lines) and no matter what I do, it doesnt seem work well. Are there any programs that I can use where I can set a document to be that exact size and edit accordingly?
    thanks

it seems like your essay is way to long. The last thing an adcom wants to see after reading forty to fifty of those in a day is another long personal statement. This is from the mouth of someone that has served on the adcoms at Texas Tech: keep the length of it to about a page to a page and a quarter. With essays longer than that he started skimming, thus missing some potentially important parts.
