NYCPM is my first chose. Can u please tell me the pros and cons about the college. Does it teach u good clinical work with a diversity of cases or is it just cutting nails?

I heard the gym is very small. Is it possible to get some kind of workout over there?

another person using podiatry as a back up and isn't satisfied? what's the story here, why such a big change in opinion about nycpm?

Probably saw the school in person

this person should be a first year this year, so i'm real curious. they act like they know everything about clinic already but probably haven't spent a day in one. i hope we get to hear some details.

i mean msa... if you look at her old posts she was saying nycpm was a great school, and the clinics were great a month or 2 before school started.

I am a first year... so cant tell you much about the clinical case they do downstairs... but as far as classes are concern, I have no complains so far. They are really making us work our tail off. 2nd and 3rd year students are really helpful and so are most of the faculty members.

^ Oh really? Am I? Care to explain yourself or do you just like picking on random students who have opinions and your unable to accept those opinions..if thats the case then maybe you shouldn't be here👍

Sure, I will explain. I asked a simple question about why you are contradicting yourself (about NYCPM) and you give me some smart*****, pretentious, stuck up, priss, bs response. I'm not randomly picking on you, I'm simply asking why you changed your opinion. I thought you were a first year now at NYCPM and seeing the school as a student you changed your opinion so I was curious as to why. If you are still a prepod and you have nothing to offer maybe you ought to lurk more.

Really? When did I praise NYCPM? Please quote me and I will shut up.

04/04/2008 9:56AM "^^True, I've noticed that NYCPM does tend to have "lower" admission standards than the other pod schools but that doesn't mean its a bad school. They have great quality education and have been around for years making it one of the oldest pod schools. Like everyone has said over and over again in various threads, it depends on the person themselves and not the school as much. If you work hard, do well on boards and classes there should be no reason why you can't get a good residency placement.

Having good contacts never hurt as well."

I just remember reading this one time and it sounded like you thought the school was decent (ie- "great quality education") and now you seem to be bashing the school as of late. I was just curious as to why.

^ Yes I did say that. Bot nowhere have I "dissed" out the education system at NYCPM. I just think their overall physical appearance andits a school I do not feel safe in. Yes the education is good but personally I wouldn't recommend it to anyone since safety is my biggest concern.

Thanks for your concern.👍

I never said you "dissed" the school/program, but I did see a couple posts to this tune -
"Don't apply don't waste your energy
what everyone has said above me is 100% true
aim for better" (10/10/2008).

When you are offering advice such as this to other prepods it does make one raise their eyebrow and be concerned. Sorry if I offended you, those are just some curious statements.

^ No offense taken. I guess it was just a misunderstanding between us. Let me clarify.

I believe NYCPM does have quality education but the appearance and building itself, in my opinion, needs a makeover. I feel unsafe about staying behind and studying. The school is pretty small but the professors and curriculum are good in terms of what they have to offer.

I hear ya on that. I believe the education is good, but the school itself and area is quite dumpy. Not sure about safety though - I have not heard anything but don't think many people stay around the school that late. The subway/metro north is literally 1-2 blocks away, it doesn't get much more convenient than that.

One of my relatives graduated from NYCPM in the 1970's. He said the school was in a different location and the current facility is paradise compared to the old one! Pretty crazy huh?
