Other mentionables: I spelt my optometrist name WRONG and managed to calculate my GPA incorrectly on my application, and had to re-submit for a complete re-do.
To the ICO entering class of 2006: I'm IN.

So what was it? My ridiculous good looks? OODLES of Charm?
My amazing grades?!!

The best advice I can offer is this,
1) Smile. Be *R A D I A N T*
2) Watch Oprah (that's if you want to go to ICO, and if your smart, you'll figure out why) And if you don't, then that's cool. But watch Oprah anyways.
3) Take control. Educate THEM. Know Their Community.

But Above All,

To Ariel Winter, your alright.

i hope this will be an inspiration to those in doubt. i am glad you posted this. i find the most important aspect of the entire process is staying positive and confident - no matter what. if you work hard and believe in yourself, the rest often takes care if itself. life is funny like that. good luck to all those still anxiously awaiting their fates. 🙂

I def. agree with ariel in that staying positive and confident is very important to becoming successful and enjoying life.

I love the way ariel is so encouraging, u def. inspired me to stay positive and strive for what I believe in. keep it up.

i am glad that my posts have encouraged at least one individual; this is my only hope. i will be the first to admit that it is not always easy to stay upbeat and professional about all things at all times - this is unreasonable. but it is possible to attempt to be somewhat rational, level headed, and positive about most things. if optometry is what you really want to do, you will do it. maybe not this year, maybe not the next. but if one truly wants this, he or she will undoubtedly try to strive for the necessary marks, oat scores, etc... to make it happen. you have all in turn inspired me to be a better person (and eventually a better doctor). this is what SDN is all about - it's not all about flaming and put-downs (although some valuable lessons have resulted from that i admit), but about getting to know eachother, the profession, and most importantly ourselves. for those in doubt: the pursuit of becoming a primary health care professional is not something that should burden the mind, it is something that should bleed from the heart. merry christmas. 🙂

I just bought a book that's in Oprah's Book Club. I haven't read yet, but I'll make sure to do so if I get an interview. Do you think that will help?

Good Motivational Post IceNine!

Based on their enrollment profile, a high percentage of students admitted to ICO are not from Chicago. Which is why, for out of towners, advice #3 would be a great topic to get into, since it really shows your interest, and #2 is a way of helping you find out more about Chicago. I doubt that Oprah is a benefactor to ICO.

Reading an Oprah Book won't help. I know, because I've read several of her choices in the past, and all of them were really bad!

OPrah really? I watch oprah all the time, and I have my intreview at ICO later this week, I'll e sure to keep that mind.
