I recently matched to St. Lukes-Roosevelt for pgy-2 this past march and was looking at their 'cheap' housing. I was trying to calculate how much I needed to save for my intern year to cover all the expenses... Hopefully someone here can help! 🙂

1. Does anyone have an idea of how much electricity in Manhattan will cost each month? (Their subsidized housing does not include for electricity)
2. Anyone know which is the better choice from their two options of housing: 10th Amsterdam vs 515 W.59th street? My top priority is safety (I'm a female), then spaciousness/cheaper cost.
3. Also if you are a resident in NYC making around 60k, and single, filing taxes in NYC, no other funny allowances, what is your average take home salary on a monthly or biweekly basis?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I only have answers to a few of your questions, I would live on 59th st.
I used my AC/lights a lot and in NYC for a studio I paid on average 50 bucks for electricity

I would assume your take home salary biweekly would be between 1200-1700 ( i dont know taxes in NYC)
