How does pharm school compare to medical school? Is medical school alot more work and alot more difficult? Also is there a vast difference in the curriculum?

Pharmacy school is heavy in math, chemistry, and memorization of things...drugs, side effects, dosages, etc.

Also, you will get a good chunk of therapeutics...when to use which drug, why to use it, and how much to use.

Medical school is a different monster all together. In medical school you focus on pathology...diseases...whereas pharmacy is the treatment via medications. Sure, you learn that in medical school as well, but not to the extent that you do in pharmacy school.

Where medical school lacks in the treatments, pharmacy school lacks in the etiology and pathology.

I guess it depends on what you prefer when you judge which is more difficult.

Both take a good amount of memorizations kills.

Pharmacy school, to me, is boring. Drug after drug and numbers after numbers. Memorizing lists of drugs, dosages, diseases, and side effects. Enough to make someone go crazy.

Medical school I find to be more interesting because you learn the pathology behind the diseases rather than just "ok, you have this...what do we give you?"

You need to figure out what you want to do.

If you like pharmacy, then go for that. Prefer medicine...go for that. I wouldn't suggest using pharmacy as a stepping stone to medicine...it's a big f*%&ing rock to climb just to get to medical school.

Good luck.
