Does the letter describing your activities and/or work experience that demonstrate your interest and aptitude for working with people (i.e. health care setting, community service, volunteer work, etc.) need to be in the form of a letter of recommendation or can it just be in the format of an essay? I've called Temple themselves about this and, surprisingly, they were of little help.

EDIT: Does the internship program give a leg up in the admissions process? I'll be going into my second semester of junior year when I take it, and would be applying that following August. I have a 3.55 cGPA/3.37 sGPA but with midterm grades out, it looks like I'll have a 3.60 cGPA and a 3.45 sGPA by the start of the spring semester.

It will be a good experience for you I'm sure but as long as you don't completely tank the MCAT you will have more than a leg up without participating in the internship at all. Keep up the good work. It may help down the line in getting a scholarship with your acceptance letter

Temple has the best clinical experience out of any school but unfortunately we have the worst front office! They come off as unprofessional and I know they scare away prospective students with their poor PR.

The work experience letter is actually more of an essay, it's just used to highlight your activities and work experience. It's basically a resume in short essay form.

The only letter you actually need is one letter of recommendation.

Edit: Yes the internship gives you a leg up but you have a good GPA so unless you score under 20 on the MCATs you should be fine
