My classmate bought Godiva chocolate as a thank you gift to her reference letter writers. Anyone else done this? Should I be thinking of doing this?? I thought a hand written note would suffice. What do y'all think?

I think it depends on the situation... if you know that you had a thursday interview, but knew they would be review your apps on friday... then definitely send an e-mail instead... this will seem very professional to them and let them know you are very interested in your school... if you just send a letter... it might not get there in time for them to notice... and in the end might just get mixed up with all the other applications that they are receiving through the mail... just my 2 cents... a lot easier than writing and mailing... and would be a lot more convenient to the interviewer in this case...
I think you should keep it simple. I also think it's wise to write the thank you notes right after the interview. If you wait to go home and write the note, then mail it out, it might be too late. You want them to have it right away. Give it to the front desk person or something.
Would it affect your chances of getting in? I highly doubt it, because after the interview, they are done and have nothing else to do with the admission process.
I would handwrite them on nice little cards. I remember reading that it's alwasy nice to get one of this little envelopes in the mail, even when you know it's just a formality. 🙂
