I don't understand how I can pour hours upon hours of studying from notes, practice questions, study groups, etc and get C's on my midterms. I have been premed for almost three years and never doubted myself.

Just got my calculus and animal physiology exams back...78% on both of them. Maybe I am just venting, but seriously how would I survive med school? I am a freakin' senior in college!! I am just baffled by this. Today I honesty think twice about going to medical school.

I understand everyone gets a sub-stellar grade once in a while, but I've already takin gchem, gbio, and gphysics w/ 4.0. LoL wow.

You said it yourself. If you've done all the rest w/ a 4.0, then you absolutely have what it takes to be premed, and you know that. If anything, this experience will probably be helpful for you when you enter med school, because you probably won't get straight A's in med school either.

Thanks for the reply and kind words. I am not one of those high strung 4.0 premed students that needs to get an A on everything. In fact, I have a 3.2 GPA right now.

I need to figure out what my problem is. I really thought I had the material locked down after diligently studying. It's frustrating to see your half serious premed friends get A's and high B's while getting a C on a test where you studied daily and they studied the two days before. Anyway. I need to go pet a puppy or something 🙂

We all have classes that we find challenging. Yours came in pairs this semester. Keep up the good work; I'm sure you have what it takes!

I'm proud of SDN for these replies. I read too many threads with rude or derogatory remarks.

Even with a 3.2, you've still got a great shot at med school; certainly it will need to be brought up a few points, but if you've worked this hard in undergrad, I know you can hack it in post-bacc if that's what it comes to. It'll then depend on what your MCAT and ECs are too, but if this is something you want badly enough, never let anyone say you can't get there 🙂

I feel the same sometimes, but we all have off days. I studied my ass on for a biochem test and got a 79%...I just made stupid mistakes. Probably going to lose my 4.0 now (ugh...) but all I can do is study my ass off for the next test and have no regrets. We're all human bro!

Anyway. I need to go pet a puppy or something 🙂

We all need unconditional love sometimes. Ask your friends for support and understanding too. It helps to pour out the frustration.

You guys, thank you so much for your kind words. I'm sure you all know this feeling of swimming through cement. I will just hit it harder next time and make sure to kill the M-Kitty. Thanks again!

Yep. The one good thing about failure is that it (should) motivate the hell out of you to redeem yourself next time. Start studying for the next exams now...remember how it felt to get those 79's and use that to fuel your fire. Keep working hard and all will be ok man!
