...that changes everything.

I found out today I matched into Air Force anesthesia and am so thankful! There is higher power at work in my life...that is for sure. There have been so many obstacles, personally and professionally, that matching to my #1 choice is truly a miracle. Now I know where I'll be living for the next four years...I know my family will have the health care coverage we need....I'll get to retire from the military. And I'll get to have a career as an anesthesiologist. All of my work to this point is paying off and I feel so blessed. This is the day that has changed everything! I look forward to hearing of other people's success as the interview season/match rolls on. Good luck!:luck:

Conflicted, stop being nice. You're the enemy remember?

Anyways, congratulations Heed. I was able to get a civ deferrment for Army anesthesiology (exactly what I wanted). Will probably run into each other somewhere down the line.

Wilford Hall for the next 4 years. Surgery intern year + 3 years of gas.

And I'll leave the pimping for everyone else...time to put away the helmet and g-suit and go to work for a living.😀

Depending on where you live and the direction of your commute, may I suggest investigating the back roads in/out of Lackland from the east (ie, through what used to be Kelly AFB). There's a road leading from the 149 FW on the northwest side of the runway straight to the main part of Lackland and you'll approach from Wilford Hall's six. This will avoid the 99% of Wilford Hall folks who turn into the base from Military Hwy.

Don't be confused with the other road leading away from the west side of the runway towards Lackland (which is near the 433 AW's C-5s and bisects the golf course). That will go up to Security Hill, but will put you out on Military Hwy.
