I realized that some school (MCSPS) require TOEFL score to those who is not a native speaker. I took it few month ago but it wasnt that good. They changed the whole structure (they add speaking part-so weird) since last year. Will low TOEFL score hurt my overall application process?

You should definitely direct this question to the schools in which you are applying. While people on this forum will have opinions - they dont matter. The only people that matter reside on the admissions committee. Give the schools a call.

How low is low? I mean if you still meet the minimum score that the school requires, you're fine. That's what Western University (CA) said. Anyway, if you still have time 'till the deadline, you should retake the test. I actually like the new version better...

I already contacted school today they told me the minimum for Internet Based was 17/30. Most score I got 20/30.

Then you're fine. If your GPA and other things are competitive, TOEFL is not that big of the deal. I think some school require 79/120, and you have >80/120, so you should be ok. TOEFL is only a requirement, I don't think it's something to compare like GPA, PCAT, etc. Don't worry!

TOEFL should be the last thing on ur mind. Its just a requirement...as long as u have the minimum reqd. score, u should be fine. Schools mostly look more at GPA, PCATs, etc.

Hi... i am writing toefl next week but i have no idea about speaking and writing module... can anybod please help and tell that what exactly are we expected to do? It is iBT... how will they do speaking... and in writing are we supposed to write essays and stuff?

From my own experience, if you've been in American for a while (3 years+), you would be fine. For the speaking, you has 2 opportunities to speak for 2 mins or so to either answer a life question or a question about the paragraph they provide you. For the writing, there is one full essay you write (30 mins) to respond to a specific statement. For the second essay (20mins or so), you read a short essay, listen to another (probably opposing to the essay) lecture, then there is one question regarding both. Your job is to write a short essay to respond to that question and what you read and heard. Likw which idea you agree with and why, support your decision with reasons. That's it!

If you still need more info, go to a bookstore, look for a "TOEFL iBT" book but DO NOT BUY IT. Just spend 30 mins there to read the instructions for each part so you could be more familiar w/ the structure of the test. Btw, the test is 3 hour long.
