For current & past Toledo SMPer, what exactly do you write for your personal statement for this school.

From Toledo SMP's FAQs on the website:

Personal Statements submitted from medical school admission are not accepted. A new career goals personal statement is required for MSBS-MS admission.
That's all the information we get. Is this the prompt on the application or is there a more specific prompt? How many words/characters is allowed?

I'm not in the Toledo SMP but when I submitted my application, I wrote it like a cover letter for a job. Basically, I wrote down in the intro what I wanted to do with my future and how the Toledo program will help me achieve that. Then I went into my qualifications (my grades, MCAT scores and research experience and how it's made a better qualified applicant). I also wrote down what I've been doing for the past couple of years since I graduated from college and how those jobs have made me better candidate for the program. As long as you treat the application essay like a cover letter, I think you're set.

BTW: I wanted to let you know that they don't review applications until June. So don't feel disheartened if you don't hear back from them for several months. Last year, they didn't send out acceptances until the middle of June.

Thanks. Did you get an acceptance?
