Tollens: reacts with an aldehyde and ??????

2,4-DNP:

Could someone help me out with these, my intstructor didn't cover them and my organic txt doesn't have much about any of these except tollens reacts with an alcohol..

tollens: aldehyde and alpha-hydroxy ketone
2,4-DNP: carbonyl group
Benedicts: if positive that means there is glucose if negative it means sucrose

So could you say that it's positive if there's a reducing sugar (hemiacetal) and negative if there's a non-reducing sugar (acetal)?
