I interviewed at Cornell back in mid-October. At the time I didn't have a #1 choice and I wanted to see how things played out with other schools, so I didn't send a letter of intent. But now it's defintely my #1 choice. Is it too late to send a letter of intent since the ad com probably already reviewed my file? Or do I have to wait until March if and when I get waitlisted?

wow!!! this is like my exact same situation. i interviewed in october, etc etc 😱 thats wild, its like my subconscious has a user name that posts on sdn 🙂

i think i'm just going to go ahead and send the letter. I have one more interview left, and unless this school absolutely blows me away (which I'm doubting it will, the location is kind of lame) its Cornell or bust at this point. Well, Cornell has already sent out a few early acceptances, so I'm leaning to think they'll be taking another look at our files. i figure it cant hurt either way 😀

Yeah, and to top it off, i'm in at NJMS too and we might've had the same interviewer there...Lonnie Wright?

You're right. Sending the letter in now can't hurt, but I also think we need to make some offerings up to the gods in exchange for an acceptance 😀 This wait until March is killing me. Raarr!! 😡

Yeah, I think you guys should send the letter. No, it's not too early or too late. Good luck! If it works out well perhaps we'll see each other at the second look. =)

Definitely not to early. In fact, sending the letter now (or even in a couple weeks) will show them that you have had time to look at and interview at other schools and that Cornell really is your number one choice. Also, they will be finishing up their own interviews and will then review all the apps again. Good time to do it if it is your #1.
