But is it too late for Tulane? My friend suggested the other day that I apply to Tulane-- he says his brother loves it there.

Tulane's deadline is January 15th, but if they have rolling admissions I might be wasting my money. What do you guys think?
Thank you!

What's your gpa/mcat? Also, do you seriously want to go there? It's expensive and the hurricane has done a lot of damage. Sure it's still a good school but you have to ask yourself "do I REALLY, REALLY want to go to Tulane?" If the answer's maybe then they will not accept you.

33T, 3.3

I know, not stellar:/

I think you would have had a very good chance if you'd applied earlier, but given how deluged they claim they are, later applications are definitely at a big disadvantage. Then again, if you are really interested, just ask yourself if the chance is worth the application fee. If you don't try, you will never know. Personally, I'd give it a shot, but that's me. Good luck.

I interviewed there and have a 33M and a 3.43. They seem to put more emphasis on MCAT than GPA. I think you have a shot as long as you can convince them that no other school has what they do. You may need to explain why you applied so late as well.

thanks dear, good advice

My application is ready to go tomorrow morning! Wish me luck, I need it.

If you don't mind sharing, what are some of the specific interests you have in Tulane? I visited there and really liked it. I thought the campus was beautiful and the students pretty cool. Also I like a diverse urban setting. Is that sufficient you think or do i need to memorize the faculty and curriculum?
Thanks!

That should be good enough. I'm a Texas resident and was asked "why would you come here if you got into a Texas school?". Be prepared for something like that. Otherwise, I liked it a lot there. One thing to comment on is the student atmosphere. Everyone is very laid back and into having a good time. Despite this relaxed approach, Tulane students do very well on the USMLEs and get great residencies. I left feeling very good about the school (too bad I got waitlisted).
