Too Late To Apply?

I'm currently a first year dental student and am interested in applying for the HPSP (either navy or air force). I just started researching this whole program, so I apologize if my questions may seem juvenile.

Is it too late to apply for a scholarship that would be applied to this school year? Or can I only apply for the three year that would start Fall 09?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm pretty sure it's too late to get one to cover this year, especially for the AF. They filled up last year. Navy or Army I think it's still too late, but you may want to aska recruiter to be sure. Who knows. They may be able to work something out. But you can apply for the 3 yr scholarship to cover the rest. You only pay back 3 yrs for this one too.
