Now that Oct 15th is over, is it too late to submit MD secondaries?

I was feeling mildly confident about my application, but have 2 Rs and silence from the 20ish schools I applied to. A friend read my PS and stated that my "why do you want to be a physician" wasn't clear.

Obviously, I've been considering more schools but had been trying to suppress my neuroticism until November. Now, I'm not quite sure what to do.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

For MD it is too late. Are you entirely against applying DO?

I'm afraid it'll look like I'm using it as a backup since I'm applying DO so late

You still have time to apply to DO. If you messed your primary essay up for MD I would suggest writing a better one and applying DO if you want in this cycle. I screwed mine up last year and got 0 IIs. You have time to have people on here proofread it and submit but you would need to get it done asap.

They want your 💲💲💲

And they likely save a small number of interview spots for really strong applicants applying late. Like career changers who were unfamiliar with the application timeline
