I have applied with AACOMAS and was recently told that my application would be verified on Jan. 5, 2007. Am I entirely too late to expect to be admitted anywhere this year (2007), or should I still have some hope? I am currently in the post-bacc program at PCOM-GA. Any info/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.😳

I say go for it, It seems like at the very least you'd have a good chance at that campus, assuming you are doing well in the post-bacc program.

Yes, I'm doing well there (3.5) but I'm not entirely sure that I want to stay there for DO school...

The time to ask was prior to submission. You've already spent the money.

A few questions so that I don't give you the generalized (there's still plenty of time, but it's getting late, etc etc...) response...

Have you done well in your post-bacc? GPA?

How did you do on the MCAT?

In other words, are you a competitive applicant w/ a 3.4+ GPA and a 26+ MCAT. If you are above those levels and have a DO letter and some clinical experience, I'd say you still have an excellent shot.

Applying now as a lesser-competitive candidate might not yield the results you desire.

I am currently a Physical Therapist. Undergrad GPA 3.3, Grad GPA 4.0, MCAT was embarassing!!! I'm hoping they will look at my grad gpa. I am doing well in the post-bacc program (3.5 gpa)
Also I'm really hoping for UNECOM, NSUCOM or NYCOM... Are those out of reach?

may want to have waited another year and up that mcat score, or apply much earlier.

I don't know what your definition of "embarassing" is, but go ahead and give it a shot. Since you're in a linkage program you might get lucky.

You wouldn't happen to be taking the MCAT in Jan would you?

If so, they might consider that score (or at least accept an update with it) and that could be a huge help.

no reason to have burned all that $ to simply withdraw. like others have said, give it a shot. i was only suggesting what you should have done.

let us know how it turns out, as most schools are filling up feb. slots at this point, get the secondaries out ASAP!
