Technically it isn't too late and you do have competitive stats... but if you're just doing this as an MD fall-back, beware. A number of schools require DO letters of recommendation. Make sure you know what the schools you're applying to require and make sure you know something about Osteopathic Medicine.

This guide should help you with both.
 
I second that advice above. And actually many of the schools already have past their due dates or have due dates in less then a month.
