Hey Everyone,

I am new to this posting thing. I am applying for Dental School for this 2013 year, but I haven't sent in my application yet (I plan on doing it by the end of this week). I have not written my DAT yet but have been studying all summer and write on AUG 26, 2012. I have 3 of my letters of reference.

I am wondering what you guys think about applications? Am I too late? I see people getting interviews already so I'm freaking out

What am I wondering about your application? It's late.
By the time your GPA and DAT scores are verified it will be pretty late in the cycle.
You didn't give enough information about yourself to guess if you're in good or bad shape number-wise. You must be Canadian because you said "written my DAT" because that is not at all an American colloquialism. It's pretty tough as it is for Canadian applicants applying to American schools. People are getting interviews because they applied early, took the DAT early, and applied to schools that give out interviews early.

There is no strict definition of being late .....but to give you an idea how long it take after you e-submit....

I took DAT on 7/15 ...AADSAS received it on 7/31
e-submitted my App on 7/19...GPA verified by 7/24...AADSAS send application to schools 7/27
Finished my secondaries by 8/3...got first interview offer by 8/7.

All these can vary depending on how many people are submitting application in a particular time frame...I noticed that GPA got verified really quickly a week after mine...so many be i was in a batch where many people submitted.....Also I know some one who took DAT in September ...and got late interview in February....and yes got in.

We'd have to know your stats to see if you'd overcome the 2 month delay in sending your application in. And hahaha, yeah - "write" my DAT is definitely not a US thing. Have to change that up during interviews 😉

Run my own charity
Volunteer lots
