Is there a downside to be involved in 3 research projects at the same time? All are in the psychology department, but different labs, although the graduate students who oversee these projects know and might even collaborate with each other. I don’t want them to think that I’m overextending myself and not committed to any. But I have 4 full weekdays to dedicate to these projects, and each one of them only requires 6-9 hours a week. I have more than a year to volunteer.

I feel that I can’t drop any, but if I have to, which two would be more attractive to graduate schools?

1. 1. Data entry, study related to my research interest, graduate student super nice, large study so it’s slow on publications, but likely be able to work with the graduate student on a different smaller project which hopefully will lead to publication or poster before I apply.
2. 2. Coding therapy sessions, closely related to my research interest, won’t likely lead to publication or poster.

3. 3. Interviewing/recruiting participants, not related to my interest, graduate student very willing to help me, can possibly get a poster from the same data.

Should I just do all 3? Thanks

I think you should do all 3! Doing research IS what gets you into grad school.

If you had to give one up I would give up the second project, but I agree with everyone else that doing all 3 seems like it would be manageable.
