Hey guys, I've recently been given the opportunity to apply for a research position at my school that would require me to work 40 hours/week this summer for a minimum of twelve weeks with a faculty mentor. Did any of you do anything like this? If so, was it fun and worth giving your whole summer up? I always planned on doing research eventually, but is it better if I get involved right now in my freshman year? Or should I postpone this to a later year? Thanks!

Yea it does, which is really nice. I don't know what the hourly salary is yet though.

The earlier you get started, the more likely your research will produce a pub or presentation by the time you graduate. However, only do it if you are interested in research.

Of course, I guess it all depends on what else you had planned for the summer...

Do it, unless you're going to do something better like find a universal cure for cancer.

I only read the title. Answer: no.

doing research as a freshman?! 😱 man I feel like I'm far behind. I would take it if it interests me 😀👍
