took all my pre-req at CC

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think your best bet would be to contact the schools you are interested in. Some med schools don't care where you got your prereqs (so long as you've done well on the mcat) while others do. 30 seems like the magic number for the mcat so I wouldn't be worried about it. However, from reading these forums I think 3.6 is avg (but I'm not sure). It would probably help if you could provide details on ECs? thx so much for the info, any other ideas?

I don't think you'll get a much better idea than calling up schools individually 👍

If you're seriously concerned though...and think you have something to prove, do a post-bacc program.
FWIW, I did a majority of my prereqs at the CC level. I also took some additional bio courses though...and OChem + BioChem came out of 4yr schools.
I had similar GPA/MCAT stuff too...

Oh...and for the record: I did my pre-reqs AFTER my BA degree (save for physics and gen chem...needed them for a science req in a degree)

Sucks for you.

You have no one to blame but yourself. You've been a member since July 2008 and have started threads in reference to CC and pre-reqs and you were told not to take all of them there. Also, this thread doesn't make much sense seeing as how you have yet to take O Chem 1 & 2 according to this thread. If the latter is true then take both courses at your university.

Hello. Unfortunately, I took all my pre-req at CC. i will get BA.(non-science major)
I am going to apply MD schoos with overall 3.5 GPA with 30MCAT.
would it look bad? would I get into any MD schools? I was originally a transfer student and went to unveristy. I still took some pre-req's at CC while attending univeristy because I did not finish my pre-req CC. Thank you.
P.S. I know that Boston U does not accept CC classes.

Is English a second language? Because I can't follow this - did you, or did you not, already take "all" pre-reqs at a CC? Are you now at the CC, or are you in a 4 year? If the latter, have you taken any upper level sci? Or if you still need to take any pre reqs, why not take them at the 4 year? And what gives with this recent post about taking Organic 1 this summer at a CC? From this thread: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?p=8020786#post8020786

Bottom line: raise your GPA with remaining credits. The MCAT is adequate, but on the low side. CC credits are OK, but the trifecta of below avg GPA, below avg MCAT, and "all" pre reqs taken at a CC when it appears you could or should have taken some at your 4 year (like your apparent gaming of the system per your Organic at CC question), along with a lack of upper level sci classes from the 4 year, all contribute to yours being a subpar application in an extremely competitive process.

Chances? Poor...
