Just took the DAT today, I am so glad it is finally over. Here are my scores:

PAT 18
QR 16
RC 17
Bio 19
Gen 19
Organic 21
TS 19 AA 18

Bio major, minor in chem
GPA:
Overall 3.9
Science: 3.88
Non-science 3.94

It's not the best scores, but I'm don't with studying for now. 🙂 So what do you guys think my chances are with these scores? Do you think I need to retake the dat? I've applied to 7 schools. 3 in texas and 4 out of state. Do you think I need to apply to more schools?

Thanks in advance.

Great scores!!!

You did great on the sciences and the PAT. QR - seems like low QR scores is a trend these days. But, as long as you make the cutoff, you should be fine.

So, I dont know about retaking - maybe you can ask the dental schools by calling them up.

You have a stellar gpa to back up your QR and RC scores so I feel you have pretty decent chances of getting in!!

Now that you're done, just sit back, relax n take it easy!! 🙂

You did pretty good, plus your gpa is really good. I got the same exact scores as you except I got a 17 on QR and 16 on RC. I applied to 12 schools. Im still deciding whether i should retake my DATs. Good luck.

Thanks guys! I want to sit back and relax, but I'm just worried since it seem like the scores on the dat are higher nowadays and I just want to be competitive enough and hopefully stand a good chance with getting interviews and getting in. I don't mind retaking it, but I have to wait 90 days, therefore it might be too late for fall 2008 semester. *finger cross* hopefully I don't have to. Anyway, thanks again.

I think you will be fine. Honestly though, I think this years average will probably be lower than last years'. I was reading last year's DAT post and found that there were quite a few people getting 25+, whereas this year I have only seen one so far.
