So i recently retook the DAT in an attempt to do better than I did the first time. I studied like 3 weeks for it. My score ended up being lower than the first time, because I somehow bombed the reading section. Do schools look at your latest score only. Im thinking about no applying this cycle, or maybe just sending in a couple of apps, so if i apply a reapplicant next year it will look better. My GPA is around a 3.4 from a pretty good school, and I have a lot of research experience, and a few leadership postions, good LOC i think, etc. Please help me out. what would you do?

First Time Second Time
Chem 16 20
Ochem 20 17
BIO 17 17
Reading 19 15
Math 16 18
PAT 18 18
AA 18 17

check the cut offs for the schools you want to apply to. I woudl really consider takign the exam again and study more than 3 weeks for it. good luck

To be honest, declining scores do not look good. Also, repeatedly reapplying does not look that great either. You are going to have to decide whether you want to take another final swing at the DAT or apply. Either way there are some positives and negatives. Retake the DAT and you may or may not do better and admissions will see all your scores and know that it took you three tries. Apply this cycle and possibly not get in and have to reapply and/or retake the DAT and admissions will know you are reapplying.

I wouldn't apply. I suggest you retake and get a 20+
This time study much harder.
GOOD LUCK

Unless you are a minority and therefore have a shot of getting into maharri or howard you gotta retake. There isnt another school in the country that would really consider your application with a 17 aa. Study for 3 months rather than 3 weeks and hopefully you will do better.
