Took DAT yesterday

I'm a bit bummed out at the moment. I studied for 3.5 months, and these were my scores. Please let me know if I should retake.

Orgo 25
PAT 23
Reading 25

For Bio, I was getting 21's on Kaplan's Bio and 20's on TopScore. Out of no where, I saw some Biochem type questions on the real thing, and I started to panic a bit. Like, amino acid junk, ketones, and fatty acid metabolism junk. I saw 3-4 of these. There were also two ecology questions that completely threw me off. I'm so pissed.

I'd get 22-24 on QR in TopScore and 25-ish on Kaplan, but the real thing was soooooo different. I think I shoulda prepared for this more. Seriously, how does a person do a cube root without a calculator? Or the Sine of 35 or something? I think I had 20 word problems total, because I just clicked C's for the last 8 questions. I'm just venting here. AAHHH!!!

I went over Kaplan, Destroyer, Achiever, and TopScore. I knew everything cold, especially Destroyer, but it didn't seem to give me that edge here. Seriously bummed out right now, guys. 😳

Should I be glad that I got a 21AA? Even if it comes with a 16 Bio and a 15 QR?

Easy there buddy...you're questions are a bit too "specific." Someone might get there panties in a wad and start crying again.

User of Needle, I think you would have been the 23-25 DAT scoring dude if you would have taken it last cycle.

I am sorta convinced the DAT has gotten harder. Usually science scores are leveled but for your case, your low scores are more than 7 points away from you other scores!!!

I think 2008 cycle is going to be very interesting to say the least.

no. Those are more for chem. But that didn't come up on my test.

It wasn't very high, so it's kind of embaressing. But the percentiles are predetermined. That's what I was told anyway.

i'm sure they'll take into account when you took the exam, and besides if all the scores drop the averages will drop...and most people didn't take it in the fall of '06.

don't stress...just focus on smashing the exam

16 in bio might be a problem if you are applying to a top school, you should be okay though with the scores you got, as long as your gpa is 3.5 or more.......good luck

Stop stressing. Your scores are phenonmenal. I would run with what you got!! Congrats man!

Your did fine, you have a really strong chance because those scores are still well above average even with the BIO and QR score
