It's not too bad, you did good on Bio and GC regardless the Bio section has getting harder. Did you have a lot of conceptual questions on your GC? Thanks.

im very angry with my scores bc i feel cheated! The The questions from the Kaplan, Barrons, Destroyer and even the Achiever were much easier than the real DAT. DAT is now ALL conceptual with ridiculous questions, especially Bio. If Biology majors have trouble with the DAT how are Business and other majors supposed to take this exam!

I will def retake the exam but i need to regroup adn figure out what did wrong with studying!!!

what was your study schedule. how much time did you put in? did you use the destroyer?

as i said after my score report, if i had not taken the upper level bio courses that i have, there is no way i would have scored that well on it. among the classes that helped me out big time are biochem, molecular bio, histo, and systems physiology

how was the gen chem portion? Did you have more conceptual questions, or more questions that involved calculations?

I have been studying since October on and off. Since Feb, I've been studying 6-7 hr 5-6 days a week. I went over ever Kaplan question and notes, barrons PAT and QR, ALL of destroyer 3 times, Took topscore and memorized all questions and answer choices,took 1 Achiever exam but i thought that it was too hard and didnt think that the actual DAT would be as hard but i was wrong. I also took DAT class wth Genius 360 in October and had notes from them.....

I promise if they asked questions like topscore or even destroyer i would have been ok. BUt the questions were absurd!!! 80% of my Natural Sciences even Orgo was conceptual and i suck at that. I had learned all the equations to Gen chem but i think i only used 1 on the real DAT....i was sooooo angry!!!! I seriously believe in myself and know that I AM AN INTELLIGENT person but this exam is crazy!!! ALL OF MY UPPER LEVEL CLASSES ( biochem, human phys, Microbio) i recieved A's in!!!!!

what were you making on practice tests (topscore or whatever you used)? it seems like you studied alot. were you real nervous before the test? Did you run out of time or something?

Hey is the Genius 360 class any good? I dont know if you have takem kaplan but is it comparable to that or better. Also, what type of notes do you get from them?

I think you are definitely studying the wrong way. Are you trying to memorize the answers to the questions from your study material? Ive heard the DAT has gotten a lot harder, but I doubt it got that much harder. From your post, it seems like you are an intelligent person. I dont see as many people posting this year compared to last year, so its hard to gauge how hard the DAT actually is this year. I took mine last year and for the sciences I got 24+ on every section. You say you miss a lot of the conceptual questions, and that tells me that you are not really understanding the material well.

I must admit i did not take but many practice test from start to finish, i broke them down in sections......Funny thing is my first diagnostic DAT before even started looking at anything i recieved 16 AA which is the same as my real DAT...crazy huh? yes, i DO NOT do well with conceptual questions, let alone Conceptual DAT questions!!!!

btw, anyone familiar with photobleaching and relevance to short and long fatty acids????

so does everyone agree that i should not apply this year and study more and apply next year??

yeah, i agree with him. you must be doing something wrong......if you put that much work into it and know all the materials in kaplan and destroyer you should be scoring at least around 19's........

How would you advice me to study for bio? I mean what kind of books should I use. you said that all of chem was conceptual questions. Do you remember the topics that you were tested on ( I mean the hard conceptual questions).

for the bio use the latest version of the destroyer he added some stuff for the bio. also look up your weaknesses in the kaplan book (prefer the one from the DAT prep course myself). if that is still vague look it up in schaums or campbells. also for obscure bio for evolution and ecology use ultimate bio study guides vol 3.

gen chem use the destroyer because he points out all the key concepts and shows how they can be applied. use the kaplan book again. also your gen chem text book. and practice these key concepts.
