I took my DAT 7/18 and I just did terrible. I thought I was prepared for the exam and I was scoring decent on my practice exam.
I feel like the time really hurt me. I only had 15 min left to do OC. PAT was my strong point I mastered almost all sections except TFE and on the real DAT KH were sooo hard and pattern folding was ridicules. I waisted so much time on TFE that I didn't have enough time to really do well on CC.
I will deff retake it but I have no idea how to even approach studying for this again.
I used Destroyer and CTD. I also took the ADA exams and topscore.

Please share your experiences or thoughts on how I can improve and how to approach this exam again since I have to wait 90 days before retake.

Practice, practice, practice. Trying to simulate the exam with the pressures of the clock might help. You really need to hold yourself accountable to the time (no cheating!).

I practiced with DATQVault after I went through similar practice questions.

Make sure you keep reviewing during the 90day interim period to keep the material fresh. No doubt you'll do better this time around now that you know your weak spots and work on them.

If you felt ready to take the exam and you were out of time during the real DAT it means that you got really nervous and/or you poorly manage your time while taking the exam.
Getting nervous is a problem to anyone that takes any exam, so you need to overcome that by meditating...I don't know...But taking exam is always stressful for everyone.
the other possible reason that you were out of time is time management. I don't know how you have been practicing but did you take a full length exam with the actual time? If no, that is the biggest reason. DAT is all about time. the questions are not hard but because exam takers have to rush, people can make mistakes or can run out of time. So practicing with the real time is very important and cheating with time on practice exam will not help you. What is the point of getting high scores in practice exams? the point of practicing is for your improvement. Some people say that they did PAT section using 1hr30min~2hrs. what is the point? you won't have more than 1hr to do PAT. The point is you have to get the answer quickly not taking forever to narrow down to an answer.
If you have been practicing with fixed time, then.....well.. I don't know what to say.

Just keep practicing, DAT is not measuring how smart you are but how much you prepared for it.
