Your sharing test taking and test prep expirience is greatly appreciated.
although i cant stop asking you few more questions before going for test on monday nov 5th..i know it will definitely tranquil my anxiety.

1. Oncology questions --were they tricky?? or just like this one falls in which clas and which phase specific kind of??

2. How was questions from TPN and Nutrition??-- did it include remembering lot many those normal value for electrolyte or simple

3. How much and what difficulty level calulation question you got to face?

4.How was questions from infectious diseases topic?? how difficult??

5.How long did you prepare for test?? how long did you take to finish? Did you happen to use kaplan question bank?? if yes how much did you score while practice??

6. Did you take prenaplex?? if yes how long before real test and how much did you score on it?

7. how many and what difficulty level quesitons on pharmaceutics and kinetics?

8. also cvs ,cns?? easy??

9 how much brand generic?? did they ask strength for generic medicine?? like tegamet is available in what strength OTC??

10.. any screening test specific questions??

Thank you again for all your help and getting this forum back to life as it was kind of dead with no update since many days..

I am planning to give naplex soon. not fixed a date still.
I wanted to know for u how much u used to get in the kaplan qts bank.
my range was always between 75-85 and i took the prenaplex too . i got 102. i have heard form my frnds taht one usually gets abt 30 % less in the actual test .
did u find the kaplan qts easy or tough.
i don't know still whether i am ready. my frnds had scored 140 in prenaplex and got 85 in the actual. nothing can be predicted .please share ur experience .thanks

Hi
As far i think your score on kap test is good as i never manage to get more then 70% on that.
Also pre naplex I got 87 ...i am still taking it because I have heared from my friends that pre naplex is little difficult then actual test and they all scored almost same as they did in pre -naplex ..
So I Guess you are READY to take the real time test..but again you know better about how prepared you are.........

Hi pixyfaygo,

Info you provided is going to be a great help..
I covered everyhting except for the max dose questions which i dont know about all of them?? while preparing did you try to remember those??
Pre naplex score and real score were close???
I am taking test on monday ..my prenaplex score wasn't great. It was 87 which is why I am little worried.
I guess i used the wrong word to ask but while saying screening test ...i was trying to ask...for example ..arrythmic.....do they ask like st segment is elevated and T waves loos like this and which med to suggest??
* DID YOU GET QUESTIONS LIKE....pt is in ER and expiriencing euphoria, dysphoria, miosis, hypoventilation bla bla bla ..and pt's g/f is saying that she saw him sniffing somehting 2 hours back ..what pt is probably intoxicated with.....
VACCINATIN- what kind of questions???????
Well I guess you almost covered everything nicey and briefly which definitely give one a brief idea about how to prepare....
Thank you very much.....you were a great help...

P.S I followed APHA all the time..refered shargil a bit for understanding couple of points, appleton and kaplan questions ..I guess APHA would be able to cover whats given on pron to pass right??

Hello!

1. Oncology - I would focus on classes and mechanisms, but I wouldn't spend too much time with it.

2. TPN - Most lab results provide you with normal ranges, so no memorization there. Just practice converting from grams to calories and things like that.

3. Calculations - If you have ProntoPass math, definitely review that. The calculations that you see on ProntoPass will probably be more difficult than anything on the exam. Their math review is very thorough.

4. ID - Again, not too difficult. I would try to remember classes and mechanisms. Know which antibiotics treat the common infections, and know alternatives in cases of allergies.

5. Test prep - I actually prepared for a while (~4 months), but due to scheduling issues and the suspension, I wasn't able to test until now. I was always a fast test taker in school, but I finished the exam in 1 hour and 45 minutes. There is PLENTY of time! And I didn't do the Kaplan questions.

6. Pre-NAPLEX - I took it in June (closer to when I THOUGHT I would be taking NAPLEX) and I scored a 133.

7. Pharmaceutics - I don't recall any questions on this topic.

8. Other - Almost every disease state was covered, even if very little. But I honestly thought it wasn't that bad.

9. Brand/Generics - Know your common brand and generic names and usual/max doses. Once again, ProntoPass has the "Top 200 Drugs" posters, and they cover the top 200 drugs in brand/generic name, MOA, strengths, etc. Very helpful!

10. Screening test specific questions? I'm not sure what you're looking for here, but elaborate, and I'd be happy to help you out!

Well I hope this helps! Feel free to ask anything else if you come across something. If there's one thing I can stress to you (and I wish I would've done the same), it's to NOT WORRY!! I know it's hard until you actually finish the test, but if you made it through school, you should have no problem with the exam.

Don't forget to go over toxicities and their antidotes. ie. BZD's - Flumazenil, opioids - naloxone, etc.

Thanks Amrirx to share..
Yes I did those..but if you are familier with another tanle in APHA in bioterrorism topic ...stimulent and depressent with there unique symptoms of their toxication...I can make out some depending on if its depressent or stimulent and also like heroin is firt stimulent them sepressent but sometimes they are little different ..i dunno if they ask questions like that??

Hi pixyfaygo, thank you very much for the helpful information. As you mentioned, you studied prontopass material to prepare for the exam. Did you find the last minute review materials helpful? Did you do the QBank or patient profile from Prontopass? If you did, are they helpful and how long did it take you to complete study for the last materials that were sent from company?...thanks

Do they give you a chart for opioid conversions or do you have to remember all of them? and how are the pt cases structured? is it all on one screen or do you have to click back and forth to view it? thanks again!

Hi guys and gals

the opiod charts r very important as 2 of my friends got those ? like the doc wrote for fentanyl and u dont have so what would u substitute and how much would give - i looked everywhere and did not find
so pls
if any one knows let me know
