For MD or DO? You should still be okay for most DO schools, but I would say it's too late for MD barring some kind of superhuman score.

It's going to affect you a lot. You should wait until next year if you are applying to MD, DO schools will be ok though

Even though everything else (letters, secondaries, etc) is done?

I would say so based on what other people have reported. If you get a really stellar score, then I suppose it would be worth it, but you would really be putting yourself at a significant disadvantage for this cycle.

I mean, if you've already sent in your primaries + secondaries, they're going to get the score sent to them automatically and there's no decision to be made here, you've already passed the point of committing to this cycle. If you score well/have good grades/are from a lucky state then you'll probably be just fine.

If those are truly all done then there is nothing you can do as the score will go out automatically. Is this a second attempt and you already have a score on file?

Second attempt but first scored attempt

Why you guys think it's too late for MD.... I have a PHD in bioengeering and also took the September 1st mcat .... and already applied ...

Sorry for the piggy back, but when is a good time to take the MCAT? I'm assuming Jan-May is ideal, but what is the last date that an MD school would "accept."

Admissions are rolling. You'll be competing for very few interview slots compared to if you were to submit your application back in June/July. Besides, how do you know where to apply if you don't even even have your score?

In a similar situation as OP. Only applied to schools with modified- or non-rolling admissions. Contacted all schools prior, all agreed that an Oct 3rd release date is still early in the cycle for them. Generally speaking, for schools that make acceptances Oct 16th, it's not ideal, but it's not all doom and gloom like everyone here makes it out to be.
