Hey all,
I just took my DAT yesterday and I am freaking out about my Verbal. I was wondering what you all think and also any advice on which schools to apply to would be much appreciated 🙂.
PAT: 19 (69.4 Percentile)
QR: 19 (92.9 Percentile)
RC: 17 (35.4 Percentile 🙁 )
Bio 20 (91.8 Percentile)
G. Chem: 23 (97.3 Percentile)
Orgo: 23 (97.1 Percentile)
Total Science 22 (98.3 Percentile)
Academic Average 20 (93.4 Percentile)

-I know that I have a low verbal but English is my second language as I moved to US like 7 years ago. That gotta count right?

Some schools really emphasize strong RC score (20+). You should look up the schools you had in mind. Also, as harsh as it may sound, I don't think it's important that english is your second language. I mean plenty of native speakers get 17 or below, and there are people that english isn't 1st language that do well on RC.
I honestly think your scores are good.

Your AA/TS is solid.
PAT is not bad either.

Well I'm sure they'll know you know how to read if you did that well on bio. Maybe Harvard won't accept you but unless your a convicted felon you'll be fine. Congrats btw

Thank you every one. It makes me feel so much better. Anyone has any suggestions on schools. My science GPA is around 3.5 including math and aGPA is like 3.6

Hey. I have the same scores. My reading part was tough ; I spent too much time on the first article. I took DAT last november. Still want to retake; my top choice is upenn. They definitely want high reading score. English is not my first language, I came to the country 4 years ago. What schools u gonna apply to?

Every one keeps telling me not to retake it coz of my high science scores and if they go down than that's not good. I am from NY and I'd like to stay close so NYU, Boston, Tufts, NJ and Connecticut, Buffalo are few choices. Which ones do u have in mind besides upenn?

I do understand you ; my total science 22. Im really anxious to retake, but that's my plan for now. I'm going to attend summer into to dentistry course at upenn; I will try to ask their opinion on low reading score for ESL people. I used to live in NY, moved to NJ. I would like to stay in the tristate; my top is upenn though. Love their curriculum .

I started studying in Feb. 7-8 hrs/day. I did DAT destroyer like 4 times. In addition I used CDP Royal flush edition for PAT and completed all 10 exams. I was disappointed I got a 19 because I was scoring 21s on the CDP. I also did Kaplan, Princeton and Barron's practice test.

Yes I will. U ? I know u definitely will get in with yr scores. Maybe not ivy league school; but there is no such a thing as a bad dental school in USA. So any acceptance will be a gift. Where do u live in ny?

Thank you 🙂. You will get in too. I live in Albany NY. U? and where are you originally from? So I have Buffalo, NYU, NJ, Stony Brook, Connecticut, Tufts, BU, NOVA and Detroit so far but I want to apply to at least 20. Buffalo is the cheapest around $200,000 difference compared to NYU.

I live in Watchung NJ; originally from Russia. U? Thank u for kind words; I really want to get in this year. Still thinking to retake DAT; but didn't start studying yet. I will apply to 20 schools; all same plus upenn, Maryland, Florida, temple , and I'll see what else.. Need to do lil research !🙂
