Took the DAT's June29th

I was wondering if my scores were good enoguh to get into schools like UMD, and UPENN. I am applying for addmission in the fall of 2008. Please leave any feedback you think will help me. I took the DAT's two times and the scores are listed below:

First Time:
PAT - 20
QUANT - 16
READ COMP - 20
BIO - 17
GCHEM - 23
OCHEM - 21
TS - 19
AA - 19

Seond Time:
PAT - 21
QUANT - 20
READ COMP - 18
BIO - 19
GCHEM - 22
OCHEM - 21
TS - 20
AA - 20

GPA is 3.47 and Science GPA is 3.4

Your scores look pretty good to me! You were really able to bring up your bio and QR -- don't know what your chances are BUT i hope you get in!! good luck and as you hear from schools lemme know, just so i can get SOME idea of where i may stand... i'm taking the DAT on Aug. 17th... How did you study?

your scores look solid. your gpa looks a little low for Penn, but on key for UMD. i know for a fact that UMD likes applicants with balanced DAT scores (i.e. all scores 20, rather than 23+ balanced by ~16).

Oh that's good to hear. I've got all 20's except a 17 in QR, an 18 in PAT and a 25 in OC 😀. Maryland is one of my top choices 🙂

I actually just did a lot of practice with DAT destroyer and Kaplan online syllabus. I read shuams outline of biology and Baarons book including the Kaplan book. The first time i just used the Kaplan book. I would suggest definetley using Kaplan online Syllabus because the exams and subject tests give you a good background. For Orgo and Gchem Kaplan is definetley all you need for Bio you need a lot more like DAT destroyer and Baarons.
MD is also one of my top choices i live in MD also so hopfully i get in.

I believe MD requires a minimum 18 in every section for out of state students, but if your instate you should be good.
