I have a question about the position of the erupting permanent teeth in relation to the primary teeth.

On the DECKS (T category of Anatomic science), it mentions that "Permanent teeth move occlusally and buccally when erupting"

however, on First Aid book (pg. 647), it mentions that "Permanent incisors often erupt lingual to their primary counterparts"

So, which source is correct? I suppose I trust the DECKS more than First Aid but please help me confirm this. Thanks.

Both are true. The permanent teeth erupt lingual to the primary teeth and move buccally as the primary teeth are exfoliated.
