It would only be A if the top surface in the end view was smooth or flat from end to end.

Im interested though as to why their end view looks like it does. The two flat surfaces should look like mine assuming everything is square.

hey Todd, in the real PAT exam, do they give you the odd ball shape (in a picture, like you've shown us) and then ask us the multiple choice question ? or do they just give you the question (without actually the picture of the actual thing, cause this would make the PAT one insane IQ exam)

lol....you kiddin right? they DO NOT give you the picture... only the projections.

If you count them correctly, B and D will be eliminated. Between A and C, the only difference among the two lies on the central part. That's where line counting stops to work and you'll have to use some spatial imagination to figure out the right answer.

LOL. Yeah, I drew the 3d shape myself in CAD to prove C was the answer. All they give you are the top, side, or front views. I guess its gonna be "one insane IQ exam" for you Nasem.
