i live in ma and there are a bunch of do's in western mass... not many in the boston area tho.
i would imagine such is the case in other places on the east coast... the major cities will fill up with mds.

I don't think "filling up" would be a correct term to use. You need to consider that DOs only make up around 5% of US Physicians, so only seeing 5 DO's in a hospital w/ 100 docs may seem really low, but it is actually the normal, proportional amount.
I'm know its not on the east coast, but I am doing a summer externship at the Rehab Institute of Chicago (Northwestern's Rehab Hospital), which has been the top ranked Rehab Hospital in the country for like 15 years. The Program Director and Chief Resident are both DO's, as well as several attendings and other residents. Take that for whatever its worth...
