(1/6) * (3/4) - (5/3) + (1/12) =
I know this seems like a really easy question but I think top score has the wrong answer to it. According to PEMDAS addition comes before subtraction. The answer that top score gives makes subtraction come before addition.
The answer key says the answer is -35/ 24
This is what I did
MULT- (1/6) * (3/4)= 3/24
ADDITION- (5/3) + (1/12)= (MAKE LCD 24) =(40/24) + (2/24) = 42/24
NOW SUBTRACTION- (3/24)- (42/24)= -39/24
TOP SCORE DOES THIS:
3/24 - 40/24= -37/24
Then addition
-37/24 + 2/24= -35/24
Am I wrong of is topscore right?
