Just finished taking a top score test and I am finally seeing some results from the hard work I have put in. I feel like I can really improve the next two weeks and solidify everything (I do know that practice scores mean very little I just hope I fall in the -1/+2 catagory).

Top Score 3 Today Aug 22
AA--TS--Bio--Chem--O-Chem--PA--RC--QR
21--19---17---19-----28------22--21---22

Only missed one more problem on Gen chem. This test had more conceptual and I learned today I have more difficulty answering some of those. I think I have calculations down. So i will just be trying to solidify conceptual Gen Chem. ANY Last pointers. What would you do for the week leading to the test?

1 week Plan

1. Hit my cliff outlines hard and solidify any week points in my outlines. Finish last half of Destroyer and redue it. Read on genetics and any missed questions for achiever and ts.

2. Gen chem... Debating to do destroyer a 3rd time or ACS a second time(ANY SUGGESTIONS??)...Plus review and solidify any memorizing like trends or formulas that I am weak with.

3. O-chem---Review reactions, and concepts I am not a hundred percent on.

4. Math--Do a crack the math and get my time limit down to 30 minutes. Memorize geometry formulas and trig identities.

5. Pat--CDP one every day.

👍 or 👎 ???

----------------------------------------------------------------------
AA--Ts--Bio--Chem--O-chem--PA--RC--QR
20--20--17---20-----28-------23--19--18

Plan for next two weeks:

Chem--Do 40 problems a day from destroyer plus the ones I missed from the day before (complete it two times). Review ACS once...

Ochem-- 60 problems a day from destroyer and review the ones i missed from the day before(complete two times). Go through ACS one time and solidify any memorization needed.

Bio-- Solidify the outlines from 12 chapters of Cliffs. Read and review physiology, and cell biology.

PA--Do 1 cdp every two days to keep it fresh. Review any rules that I am unceartain about.

QR-- Start memorizing formulas that I will need for test day. Do Math Destroyer and some CDM tests.

RC-- Top score( strategy is read a question and read until I find the answer, making a key word outline for each paragraph as I go).

THATS my plan for the next two weeks... I am feeling pretty good and will just need to stay focused for two more weeks!🙂

Wow, good scores. I had lower scores than that on topscore, but ended up with a 21. Topscore is a bit harder than the real DAT, so you will do great. Only thing I gotta say is improve the QR. That score is always lower than the Topscore score. I was getting like 22 on Topscore, but got a 18 on that. Topscore QR is alot easier. Work hard the last two weeks and kill the DAT. 👍

Nice scores. My practices aren't even as high as those and I'm taking mine on Tuesday:scared:. I'm sure you will do just great:laugh:

Good job man!

One tip though, don't let that high Ochem score give you satisfaction. Unless you straight up knew each problem you got correct -1, you have to really count the ones you guessed on as wrong. I got a 30 on my last topscore ochem and I was like "WHAT?! I'm awesome" Then I gave ochem another day of studying and realized I still had PLENTY to learn. Again, you will get some correct by guessin on test day, but just in case, take it with a grain of salt.

And for QR, don't delay practice. There's no way the real test is gonna be harder than topscore. Realistically, it'll be close to that with more word problems. But try to hit 20 for QR on topscore, if you aren't do some SAT math!

Way to go man! Keep up the hard work. Do a little bio everyday!

Are you serious? If you think there is no way the real exam's QR is going to be harder than topscore then you are in for a surprise of a lifetime. Trust me Philippines, the real exam's QR is harder. Most people on here get worst on the real exam than they do on Topscore, including myself. But since you are doing Math Destroyer and CDM, you should be fine. Just dont let someone fool you into thinking the real exam is easier than Topscore.

yeah, im agree with OC. the math was way harder than topscore😕 Im very good at math(got all 29 on topscore) but boy those essay questions pffffff, no way out of it!!!!! dont stress though, as lons as you get over 17 ur fine, some schools dont care that much about QR, but keep in mind that it counts in ur AA. dont waste ur time on longggggggg questions, skip those to get easier pones first then move to the skipped ones. best of luck to you:luck:

Thanks for the encouragement. I am definatly aiming for a high score in o-chem. Just finished ACS exam for ochem 2 at the end of last month with 98 percentile. I am trying to build off that and improve. QR I scored 21-22 on Achiever and 20 on the other topscore, 18-22 on CDM but felt tired at the end of the test today so I might need to figure out meals and things like that that will help me stay alert longer. I am definatly going to spend time on it because i know it could definatly be harder. THANKS FOR THE TIPS!! They are needed!

do you think cdm is more similar to the real thing than topscore? QR is scaring me.

QR should scare you. It is a hard section not because of the problems but because of the timing. 40 questions in 45 mins seems almost impossible because most of the problems are word problems. Yes, CDM is more similar than Topscore. I did Acheiver, Topscore and CDM and got a 18 on my retake, which I am still happy about because my first QR score was 16. QR is a hard section, but if you practice enough Im sure anyone can master it.

Just took my last practice Top Score test(Take a look up top). One week to go! I am getting pretty excited! ANY Advice would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

I had the same thought but that is the site... I just did the download version and it was fine. The web site might not be much but it was the closest practice test I had to the real thing. Good luck

i know someone has probably asked this somewhere, but how well does topscore, on average, reflect actual dat scores? specifically the sciences.

NYOD ---- Usually, from the sounds of what i've been reading lately on this site, and friends who have recently taken the actual DAT, people tend to score slightly higher on the actual DAT then on the Topscore (by + 1, +2 points)....

I know someone had a poll on this a few weeks ago. I'll try to bump it up for you if i can find it. Hope this helps.🙂
