Hi everyone,
i just purchased a DAT blue book, but i keep hearing rumors about topscore being better at preparing students for the DATs. does anyone know which one is more useful in terms of success on the DATs? also, has anyone tried studying on their own using one of the following sources, and than take a review course (such as kaplan or princeton)? or is that superfluous? thanx.

The DAT blue book and Topscore are like comparing apples and oranges. Topscore is a test simulator and DAT blue book is a test review. The Kaplan DAT CD (which you get with the blue book) is what is comparable to Topscore. From what I understand, it's good to have both as a test simulator. People say that however you perform on Kaplan CD or Topscore, add 2 to 3 more points on to it and that is what your real DAT scores will be like. Kaplan is the only on with a DAT course. I've never heard of a princeton review course for the DAT's.

You use the DAT blue book to review bio, gchem, and ochem. You use TopScore to practice and sharpen your weaknesses. Basically, for science, topscore is great because it gives you a lot harder questions than the real DAT. For PAT, topscore is better in resembling the real DAT. For RC, I think blue Kaplan is better. For QR, i think both kaplan and topscore are good.

The kaplan course, I didn't take it, but ppl that I talked to said that it's not worth your money.
Good luck!
