TOP View Problem!

Can someone please please tell me how in the world the TOP view of this image works out?

Edit: I figured out that the three "external lines" of the front view correspond to the edges of the end view... but how do we decide between A and B?

Any tips is much appreciated!!!

Well A shows left and right boxes at the top of the image whereas they are missing in B. Those boxes represent the tops of the square left and right pillars in the front view. Here is a very quick paint sketch I did of how images A and B would look in 3D. As you can see that if it was B then the end view would not have a dashed line. I hope this helps 🙂
