1. What are the only value(s) all six basic trigonometric function can have?

a. 1
b. -1
c. 0
d. 0 & 1
e. 1 & -1

Answer is E, but basically I dont know what the quetion is aksing me. Someone explain the trigonometric function to me please. And what is the standard Cartesian plain Graph?

2. how many gallons of pure orange pulp must be add to 30 gallons of 20% solution of orange pulp to make it a 50% solution.

They solve it like the math way, but can we solve it like the chem way.
M1V1 = M2V2. If yes, someone help me with this please, because I could not get the right answer when I use chem method (answer is 18)

1. You need to know your unit circle for this question. Straight from the unit circle we can find that sin can have all -1,0,1 values & so does cos. We also know tan = sin/cos & that tan 45 = 1, tan 135 = -1, tan 0 = 0, same applies for cot = cos/sin. But sec & csc can never have value of 0, because sec = 1/cos, csc 1/sin. So if we make cos or sin 0 then the value of sec & csc resp will be undef. I tried to explain the best I could, but it would make it clear if you can look at the unit circle, & prove it to yourself.

2. I don't know how to do this with M1V1 = M2V2, since we are not given Molarity of anything. This is how I did it.

20% of 30 gallons = 6/30 gallon is pure orange juice. To make it 50:50

0.50 = 6 + x/ 30 +x
15 + 0.5x = 6 + x
9 = 0.5x
x = 9/0.5=18 gallons

1. I got it now, the trigonometric function they are talking is sin, cos......I thought I talking about something I never heard of. Your explaination is very clear to me.

2. excellence way to solve this problem. topscore solution is so complicate, that why I am thinking to solve it by chem method, but your way is perfect.

Thank you
