for the topscore test 1, can someone explain q76 in the natural sciences section. how does an aldehyde with a ketone in presence of a base and H+ make an aldol? and also, can someone explain to me what nonplanar (q77 science section) is and some examples? Thanks very much for the help!!!

from what i know: the alpha hydrogen on the ketone reacts with the carbonyl carbon on the aldehyde

first of all it is not exactly an aldol is is a MIXED aldol which will yield 4 different products.

in a regular aldol you react the same molecule twice to give you one product.
