Hello,

So I just took my 1st Topscore Test with about 11 days till D-Day. Couple of questions..

1) Is the first test easier than the rest, or are they all of equivalent skill level? I was kind of expecting it to be a bit harder than it was, but then I've been hearing the DAT is actually easier than Topscore?

2) The Bio section was NOT random on Topscore..it basically was just asking me simple recall questions that I should know from Cliffs or Kaplan. Is this what I should expect on the real thing? I've heard so many things about the real DAT being super random..but this wasn't at all. I'm less inclined to go through Destroyer Bio now (I already was pretty sure I wasn't going to) because I feel that focusing on the CORE CONCEPTS from Bio will get me further than trying to memorize every quirky small random irrelevant fact about everything!

3) I can't see individual solutions to problems unless I go back and re-do the test and click the solutions link each time? Laaame!

Thoughts? Thanks!

#1. It's different for everybody, but I'd say all 3 tests are about the same. Personally I scored 25, 23, & 23 on them iirc, so I did better on the 1st one.

#2. Well Destroyer Bio isn't about memorizing details, it's more a guide that gives you high-yield topic subjects. I would definitely go over it. Not going over it at least once is a mistake.

#3. Yup, lol.

Ah that's not really what I wanted to hear, lol. I just feel that DATQVault and just re-reading Cliffs/Kaplan + Khan's Videos are going to be more beneficial--what is it exactly that Destroyer Bio will help me that much with? Destroyer GChem ,OChem and Math are awesome, I just feel that the Bio is waaaay too much to handle!

I just took Topscore2 and got the following:

Top Score 2:

Bio/Chem/OChem/PAT/RC/QR/TS/AA

20/23/23/21/22/22/22/22

I really hope TS is easier. Some of those biology question, no matter what I study or where I study, just will never show up. But if TS is easier, I'm feeling a bit confident. I used a basic calculator for QR since they didn't provide one.

I shall post a TS2 WTF thread soon LOL.

I got a 19 on the real DAT for BIO but my highest on top score was 17. It was all the taxonomy questions that killed my practice scores.

Other than that QR is going to be harder on the real DAT and O-chem was slightly harder for me on the real DAT (O-chem TS #1 28, TS#2 28 but Real 23). It was only the difference between a question or so.

You are going to be fine. Just keep working on what you feel your weaknesses are. If you do that you will be sure to kill it. Good luck👍

I found the Topscore tests to be similar, but slightly easier than the DAT. I took the DAT today so I'll post a breakdown sometime when I get a chance to write one up.

My advice with Topscore would be to understand how to do all the Problems in the natural science section and the math section. I know there are some random questions but just internalize the solution and know how to solve the calculations for Chem and QR-the more exposure to practice problems, the better! Good luck!

If you are getting these scores on topscore, you will find the real DAT laughably easy. My score jumped 2-3 points per section when going from topscore to the real deal. I just hope you aren't applying to my top pick school
