this is turning into a dat tutoring section😀

i just don't understand the question, figure, and the answer. can someone explain this to me?

"a" and "b" reprsent the sides opposite of Angles A and B respectively. The solutions merely show the ratio of "a" to sinA making that equal to "b" to sinB. The reason they set up the ratio like that and set it equal is because the angles are proportional to the sides, that is why you equate them like that. hope that helps
 
Yes exaclty I agree with timefordat. Also, if you look at the triangle,the opposite side of angle A is the hypotenuse, so you can`t do Soh Cah Toa on this one. The way to do this is to set up a ratio, just like they did because you know the sin of angle B and the side of it, but you do not know angle A.

oh ic. didn't know what a and b were. so i was thinking sinB is 3/6 what are they talking about...😕
