Total application cost estimate

In applying to NRMP there is $65 for first ten, gradually increasing upto $25 per program after 30 programs making it a whooping amount of nearly $3000 if you want to apply to 100 programs! Is it the same for SFMatch? What's the total cost of application (just application, not interviews) for 100 Ophthal programs? Thanks

that's the distribution form and according to it (first 10 are a flat fee of $60):
Number of Programs Fees
1 – 10 $60
11 – 20 $10 per program
21 – 30 $15 per program
31-40 $20 per program
41+ $35 per program

Thanks. That means to apply to 100 programs you have to part with more than $2600 of your hard earned money! Hell lot of money!! Aaaarrghhhh!!!

If you are successful and get a slot, that amount will seem trivial compared to all of the other money you will eventually spend on board reviews, boards, recertification and MOC.

BTW, the applications aren't the main expense; interviewing is.
