Hi all,

So I applied to DO schools last cycle and was accepted to one OOS. I have already filled out all financial aid stuff etc. to begin matriculating in the fall. However, I just got off the waitlist for a school in-state that was my first choice. How would I go about notifying the OOS school that I will no longer be attending?

Basically, I know that orientation is only a few weeks away and I feel kind of grimy pulling out this late.

Should I just email them? what do I say?

Thanks in advance!!

Email them today. Gracious but succinct.

Don't feel grimy, you are getting off the wait list because somebody else did the exact same thing.

Just say, "I have decided to withdraw my application, thank you for the opportunity". Done.

You'll feel worse if you procrastinate telling them. Do it today.

Schools deal with this all the time. It's part of the process and they realize that. Just tell them. You're going to make someone very happy who is waiting for your spot.
