I'm 21 years old and currently working as a Pharmacy Tech at CVS, and I worked at Walgreens as one prior to this job. When I started college at 18, I attended CW Post LIU with intentions of getting into the Pharmacy program eventually.
I ended up switching between CW Post LIU and Suffolk my first 2 years of college, and I messed up my grades at Post one semester due to a sudden and tragic death in my family. It really brought my GPA down. I'm now in my 4th year of college (I skipped a semester, and went part-time another semester because I was unsure of what I wanted to do after I screwed up at Post). I'm now at Touro College in Bay Shore, NY taking my pre-reqs again because I decided that I want to start fresh and get into a Physician Assistant program since I felt that my chances of getting in Pharmacy school were slim to none.
Looking back, I really wish I had just found a different school that offers Pre-Pharmacy, because my professors at Post were not helpful at all and many students struggled. I know Touro (in Manhattan) has a Pharmacy program, but it isn't certified or something like that? Does anyone know if/when they will get full certification, or what other schools I could look into if I decided to go back down the Pharmacy path?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
