TOURO interview invite ERROR

I recieved an email from TOURO on monday tellin me to call to schedule an interview. When i called, the admissions guy (i think his name was Roger) told me that the email was sent out early and that they aren't ready to schedule students yet because they haven't arrange the dates in which students can come in for intervies.

Did anyone else who applied to Touro have this problem??

My only concern is that since the invite was sent so early, i wonder if they mistakenly sent out invites instead of rejection letters.

Any input??

Nothing like applying to med school to jack up your paranoia level. I would have thought the same thing. Roger is a great guy so if he says it was mistake, I’m sure it was. Hope to see you when you really get the real interview invite.

I highly doubt they meant to notify you with a rejection letter. They usually hold out till the very end before they give you the bad news. It's like, they love the suspense of the whole application process. I'm sure you'll hear from them soon about an interview invite.

Which TOURO did you receive that from? I heard TOURO starts interviewing in later August or early September. Did he, Roger, told you to wait a week or two to call back to set up a date? Just curious.

Well, the interview email i got said that they start interviewing in oct.....he said he would call or send out another email somethin in august.

FYI...

Roger Corbman is the Director of Admissions at Touro - Nevada.

Dr. Haight (Director of Admissions) and Steve (Asst. Director) are at Touro - Mare Island.

Well, the interview email i got said that they start interviewing in oct.....he said he would call or send out another email somethin in august.

Don't worry about it. They are pretty swamped at the student services office. Orientation for the '09-ers is happening soon. Just keep tight and congrats on the interview invite!

Seems like yesterday... I'm not sure what others have posted but this particular event happened to me as well... Yup, that was a little over four years ago and every year as the moderator here at SDN... there's always someone that tells me about this same exact thing that happened to them and I do exactly as what I'm doing now... Replying back and saying that "yes" it has happened before. Year after year after year...

You figure by now... I've already graduated medical school and graduate schools, starting my residency and still Touro is still having the same issues with "Error invites"...

I'm not sure if Dr. Haight is still around but I encourage you current TUCOM students to let them know... Then again, I've asked that of someone every year and yet every year they still send out error invites. I even contact Dr. Haight personally... as I knew him well during my undergraduate years at UCDavis about the problem and yet the this problem persist and now it's via electronic mail.

As if application to medical wasn't stressful enough, they have to add a roller coaster ride of thinking you got an invite but not really... It sucks...

What happened to me was I got an invite for an interview and I only found out that I was not on the list of their interviewing group that day because I got a call a week later saying that they had made a mistake. I also got a follow up letter... I'll keep this long story short... Well eventually they invited me back and I gave them an answer of a NO FREAKIN' THANK YOU!

I'm glad I turned down their invite and I'm glad I didn't go to TUCOM!

Good luck with you and your plans... maybe you'll be in the same boat as me and if you still want to interview at TUCOM then good luck...
