I see that having MERIN at Touro-NV is a plus but what exact advantages do the students get from it being next door?

Also, is Dr. Crovetti still trying to create an orthopedic surgery residency with Touro-NV as I've read/heard?

The bigwigs here at Touro have a lot of plans in terms of expanding postgrad training here in NV. Orthopedic Surgery, Anesthesia, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Neurology, and Cardiology have all been considered for development. Residents that are currently training at Valley will get first dibs on these fellowship spots, as they want to recruit from within.

With regards to the ortho program: an email was sent out a couple of weeks ago inviting those interested in the program to come and listen to the people involved in the process give a talk...unfortunately I wasn't able to go, but they are definitely working on it.

Now will these residencies be ready by the time I graduate? I hope so :luck:

Awesome, thanks for the reply. What year are you and you think there's any chance it would be set up for the class of 2013?
